About English
Gardner first got her start in Carl Lewis’ track club in New Jersey when she was only 12 years old, and was a standout high school athlete before moving across the country for college at the University of Oregon. Gardner found immediate success as a Duck, setting a then-American Junior record with a time of 11.03 and was named the Pac-10 newcomer of the year. During her time at Oregon, she won four NCAA titles and set school records in the 100m, 60m and 4x400m relay. Gardner claimed her first USATF Outdoor Championship in 2013, running a 10.85 en route to gold and a number two ranking in the United States. Gardner said her mother knew she would become something great before she was born and wanted a name that would be hard to forget. Gardner is an outspoken athlete whose go to phrase is that she wants to “shock the world.” Gardner turned pro after her junior season at Oregon and now trains in Los Angeles.
