About Mary
Mary Saxer has been battling for years to claim an elusive USA title and solidify her place among America's best pole vaulting women. The 2014 indoor season finally saw Saxer accomplish that feat, earning her first professional gold at the 2014 USA Indoor Championships by defeating Jenn Suhr, the golden standard of pole vaulting in the U.S for nearly the last decade. Saxer attended Notre Dame, where she quickly established several school records and became the most decorated pole vaulter to ever wear blue and gold. Prior to college, Saxer was regarded as the most accomplished female prep pole vaulter in United States history. Saxer became the first high school female to clear 14 feet and broke her own national high school record on nine separate occasions.
