About Monica
Monica Hargrove has been a consistent figure on the women's 400-meter scene for more than a decade. She has shown no signs of slowing down, earning her first international gold medal in 2014, with a win in the women's 4x400m relay at the World Indoor Championships in Sopot, Poland. This medal came eight years after her last medal at any major international competiton. Hargrove has the distinction of being the first track athlete to be sponsored by Under Armour. She has also launched the "Strength is Beauty Project," a campaign geared towards eliminating the stigma that muscular women cannot be beautiful. Hargrove plans to continue her training, looking to earn a spot on the 2016 U.S. Olympic team.
